Geokincern offers integrated solutions for a range of geoscientific projects

Maps are integral for understanding the world we live in. They are also required to solve a myriad of problems ranging from natural hazard identification to mineral exploration. At Geokincern we build integrated maps to assist in projects of any scope or scale. Our maps provide customised views of relationships at the Earth’s surface, and we use their associated data to provide windows into the subsurface through section construction and modelling. Our specialist knowledge in structural mapping and analysis is based on worldwide experience from numerous complexly deformed terranes. We are equipped to capture digital geological data for map production. We also offer in-depth interpretations and analyses of your data, which can be converted into a range of map products to suit your needs.

The Earth’s physical properties can be measured, modelled and interpreted to make assumptions about rocks, soils and structures in areas where these cannot be observed at the surface. Geophysical data are immensely powerful as they provide a means for the extrapolation and interpolation of geological features between discrete observations (mapped or drilled).
We highly value the importance of integrating geophysical products with other data types. By honouring other datasets Geokincern reduces ambiguity and can confidently provide interpretations and models of the Earth at any scale. We take particular pride in having significant experience in structural and geological interpretation of geophysical data, as well as forward and 3D modelling of magnetic and gravity data.

An understanding of geology and structure is crucial for hazard analysis as well as design, construction and maintenance of engineering projects. Geokincern can provide geomorphological mapping and interpretation services. We can also undertake geotechnical investigations at site or remotely through surface and subsurface investigations.

The greatest mapping results, most accurate measurements and astute observations will be underutilised unless they are visualised and communicated to the right people. The ease with which we can share information and collaborate effectively will contribute to the likelihood of a project’s success.
Through the production of high-quality maps via geo-referencing, image enhancement, remote-sensing data interpretation (e.g. geomorphology, land use classification) we can analyse and predict spatial trends from location-based data. While we have a wealth of experience using multiple commercial GIS platforms, we have chosen QGIS as our in-house package due to its open-source philosophy of collaborative software development and innovation.
